Pre-Apprenticeships & Internships

Connecting high school students to real-world, paid and unpaid work experiences that build skills, confidence, and career clarity before graduation.

Who This Initiative Is For

  • LEAD Training partners with high schools to design and support structured pre-apprenticeship and internship programs that align with student interests, graduation requirements, and regional workforce needs. We help schools expand access to high-quality work-based learning opportunities while maintaining strong screening, supervision, and accountability for students and employers.

  • This initiative connects employers with motivated, career-ready high school students for internships and pre-apprenticeship experiences. LEAD Training supports employers throughout the process — from student matching and onboarding to communication and problem-solving — making it easy to engage early talent and build a strong, local workforce pipeline.

  • Pre-Apprenticeships & Internships provide students with hands-on experience that builds skills, confidence, and career clarity before graduation. Funders support equitable access to real-world learning opportunities that prepare students for post-secondary education, registered apprenticeships, and employment while strengthening regional talent pipelines.

Example In Action

Kings High School Internship Program

In partnership with Kings High School, LEAD Training supports a semester-long and year-long internship program that connects seniors with local employers for meaningful, hands-on experience.

Students “test drive” careers, build professional skills, and gain confidence that carries into college, employment, and apprenticeship pathways.

“The Kings High School Internship program is a success story, tripling its enrollment over the past three years while maintaining high-quality, meaningful placements for students. This growth is due in no small part to LEAD Training’s strategic guidance, industry connections, and ongoing support.”
Carrie Snyder, Kings High School Internship Program
